For 2026, the KBF STATE Challenge Series provides an opportunity for new anglers, or those less interested in serious competition, to participate in the GreenHorn Challenge Series. A low cost, low barrier to entry option for getting started with Catch, Photo & Release events.

The GREENHORN Challenge Series offers an introductory membership level that includes the KETCH Karbonate Measuring Board ($35.99 value). The code for the FREE Board is included in your welcome email and you must then use that to order the board on the Ketch website. They are not automatically shipped. FREE Entry into the Monthly GreenHorn Challenge Series events ($150 Value) from February through October with monthly prize drawings starting at $500 from participating Sponsors.
The GREENHORN Series is also exempt from monthly Fishing Chaos Fees which provides another $39.99 Value, bringing the overall value to $250.00.
KBF will provide additional prizes, events and opportunities based on series participation.
- ONLY GreenHorn Members are ELIGIBLE for the GreenHorn Challenge Series.
- GREENHORN Members are NOT ELIGIBLE for the STATE Challenge Series and KBF STATE Challenge Series Competitors ARE NOT eligible for the GREENHORN Series.
- GreenHorn Members ARE eligible for the CATCH22, Unlimited Series, and Torqeedo TOP TEN Series. Entry fees for these series are not included with the membership.
